MARTIN FOURIE

MUSICIAN

As a professional musician I have worked across many genres, performing as part of various orchestras, big bands, ensembles and groups in a variety of settings. My “first love” has always been the trombone, but I have recently picked up the bass guitar and the drum kit and have since performed on both.

TECHNOLOGIST

I remember being fascinated with tape and LP as a kid. That fascination has grown over the years to include professional audio equipment, computers, media, online content and wireless technologies.

EDUCATOR

Education seems to run in my family, with 3 aunts and an uncle teaching Secondary school, my grandfather having been a head teacher, my grandmother having been a Secondary school teacher and my dad currently a university professor! I made my “educator’s debut” heading up the Music Technology department at a local private degree-course college before traveling to the UK to inspire and enthuse 11 – 18 year-olds about Music and Music Technology.
